Internist the first to see patients at new St. Francis Health Martinsville office

MARTINSVILLE, Ind. – Dianna L. Boyer, M.D., has established a practice at Martinsville Family & Internal Medicine with St. Francis Medical Group.

The newly established medical complex opened Sept. 19, and provides a broad range of health care options for local residents and surrounding areas.

Board-certified in internal medicine, Boyer most recently was employed by Indiana University Health Morgan Hospital, where she also served as chief of medicine, medicine section chair and the medical executive and credentials committee. Before that affiliation, she was in private practice in Martinsville.

Boyer received her undergraduate degree at Bryn Mawr College and earned her medical degree from the IU School of Medicine. She completed an internal medicine residency at IU Hospitals in Indianapolis.

Franciscan St. Francis Health announced plans earlier this year that it would open a multipurpose medical office to better serve the needs in the Martinsville community. The hospital system also operates a full-service hospital in Mooresville.

Physician establishes practice with St. Francis Hospital cardiology group

INDIANAPOLIS – Sunil S. Advani, M.D., has established a new practice with the Indiana Heart Physicians at St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers.

Advani most recently was affiliated with Clinical Cardiovascular Specialists at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and was an investigator with the MidWest Cardiology Research Foundation.

He has wide experience and completed fellowships in interventional cardiology and adult cardiovascular disease (The Ohio State University Medical Center), peripheral vascular intervention (Lindner Center of Christ Hospital) and adult congenital heart disease (Columbus Children’s Hospital).

Advani is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine and pediatrics and has extensive training in interventional cardiology and cardiac imaging. He has been an active investigator in clinical trials and has been widely published in professional journals.

A graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Advani completed a combined medicine/pediatrics residencies at the OSU Medical Center and Columbus Children’s Hospital.

He earned various academic honors, including memberships in Alpha Omega Alpha (Ohio State) and Phi Beta Kappa (Duke University).

IHP was established in 1978 under the direction of H.O. “Buzz” Hickman, M.D. In addition to its long-established relationship with St. Francis, IHP also has affiliations with Morgan Hospital and Medical Center in Martinsville and Major Hospital in Shelbyville.

Long-time family medicine practice joins St. Francis Medical Group

INDIANAPOLIS – Gray Road Family Medicine has joined the St. Francis Medical Group.

The physicians, all of whom completed their residencies at St. Francis, have been in practice together for more than 30 years. They are Roger Core, M.D.; John Lawlis, M.D.; Max Runkle, M.D.; and Philip Snyder, M.D.

INDIANAPOLIS – The doors at South 31 Family Care will be open to the public , 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 27, at its new south side location.

Tours and refreshments will be offered at the newly opened center, located U.S. 31 and Southport Road.

Orthopaedic surgeon establishes new practice at St. Francis

INDIANAPOLIS – Michael E. Ralston, M.D., a member of St. Francis Medical Group, has joined Orthopaedic Restoration at St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers.

Ralston is an honors undergraduate of The Ohio State University, where he also earned his medical degree. He completed a surgical internship and residency training at the University of Florida, and later completed a fellowship in total joint replacement at The Ohio State University.

Ralston is a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.

INDIANAPOLIS – Two St. Francis Medical Group physicians are relocating their family medicine practices to a new location in early August.

Matt Wolf, M.D., and Joe Johnston, M.D., will see patients at the newly opened South 31 Family Care center, located at U.S. 31 and Southport Road. They previously practiced at St. Francis Center Grove Family Medicine.

They will be joined by Lisa Altuglu, M.D., and John Baldea, M.D., at the new location.

Wolf and Johnston are board-certified in family medicine and also provide obstetrical care and delivering babies at St. Francis Hospital-Indianapolis.

Both physicians completed their residencies at St. Francis and were graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine.

Indiana Heart Physicians joins forces with St. Francis Hospital

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Heart Physicians, a leading internationally recognized cardiology practice, will integrate its services with St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers, effective Aug. 3, 2009.

Thirty years of industry-leading cardiac care to the residents of south central Indiana has taken a major step forward with the integration of Indiana Heart Physicians and St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers. This integration harnesses the expertise of both organizations and their ability to offer a wider range of cardiac and vascular services to patients in central Indiana.

St. Francis physician establishes new practice at South 31 Family Care

INDIANAPOLIS – Lisa Altuglu, M.D., a member of St. Francis Medical Group, has joined South 31 Family Care effective Aug. 3.

Board-certified in internal medicine and pediatrics, Altuglu previously was a partner in Pioneer Physicians Network, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. She has held academic appointments at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, Summa Health Systems, Akron General Medical Center and Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Akron.

She completed residencies in internal medicine and pediatrics at Akron General Medical Center and Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She earned her medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine.

Altuglu received various academic accolades as an undergraduate and as a medical student. She is a member of the Ohio State Medical Association.

Anthony Bashall joins Indiana Heart Physicians at St. Francis

INDIANAPOLIS – John “Trey” W. Moore III, M.D., has established a practice at the Indiana Heart Physicians at St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers.

Moore is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine and currently is in the process of completing certification in clinical cardiac electrophysiology.

Rheumatologist joins St. Francis-based specialty group

INDIANAPOLIS – Stefan D. Monev, M.D., a member of St. Francis Medical Group, has established a practice with Rheumatology and Osteoporosis Specialists at St. Francis.

He most previously was a rheumatologist with the Medical Group of Fort Wayne. Monev held similar positions with the Aurora Medical Group (Wisconsin), University Hospitals and Clinics (Mississippi) and was an internist with County Hospital in his native hometown of Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

Board-certified in rheumatology and internal medicine, Monev held an academic appointment at the University of Mississippi Medical Center from 1992 to 2002.

Monev received his medical degree from Medical University in Bulgaria, and completed residencies in that country and later at Meridia Huron Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He also completed a rheumatology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Monev earned various academic honors in medical school and as an intern. He holds memberships in the Indiana State Medical Society and American College of Rheumatology.

St. Francis Medical Group MD joins Neurological Associates

INDIANAPOLIS – Daniel G. Spomar, M.D., a member of St. Francis Medical Group, has established a practice at Neurosurgical Associates at St. Francis.

He will join Anthony Jabre, M.D., and Karsten Fryburg, M.D., whose offices are located at Suite 300, 8051 S. Emerson Ave.

Spomar’s clinical specialities are degenerative spine and general neurosurgery.

He recently completed a neurosurgical residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria where he was chief resident. He also completed a residency in general surgery at that institution.

Endocrinologist joins St. Francis Medical Group

INDIANAPOLIS – Miroslava H. Kouzmova-Moneva, M.D., a member of St. Francis Medical Group, has joined Southside Diabetes and Endocrinology.

She most recently was an endocrinologist with Medical Group of Fort Wayne and previously was an internist and endocrinologist with the Aurora Medical Group in Wisconsin.

Board-certified in endocrinology and internal medicine, Moneva’s clinical interests include diabetes and general endocrinology.

Moneva is a graduate of Medical University in Bulgaria, where she later held an academic appointment. She completed an endocrinology fellowship and internal medicine residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and an internal medicine residency at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

IOHC joins St. Francis Medical Group; expands cancer treatment options

INDIANAPOLIS – The addition of Indiana Oncology Hematology Consultants (IOHC) further expands the specialty offerings of St. Francis Medical Group.
