Public can tour new facility, meet staff at June 28 open house
CARMEL, Indiana -- Residents here and in neighboring Westfield soon will have a new health care option with Immediate Care-Village Park Plaza.
Located at 14641 U.S. 31 North, this new facility will open August 1, and offer services 365 days a year from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The public will get a sneak peek of this new Immediate Care at an open house, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, July 28.
Immediate Care-Village Park Plaza provides urgent care treatment by physicians – without an appointment – for illnesses and injuries, including diagnostic imaging and lab services. This 5,500 square foot facility features eight exam rooms and two treatment rooms, and is staffed with four physicians, nine medical assistants, five X-ray technicians and management staff.
“Immediate Care offers accessible, economical medical care to patients, particularly for those with minor injuries and illnesses who don’t require a visit to a hospital emergency room,” said Robert J. Brody, president and chief executive officer for Franciscan St. Francis Health, which acquired Immediate Care operations in the Indianapolis area in late 2010.
In addition to its new location, Immediate Care operates facilities at 860 E 86th St. (Nora) 1001 N. Madison Ave. (Greenwood), 650 N. Girls School Road (Chapel Hill), and 5210 E. Thompson Road (Beech Grove).
“Together with Franciscan St. Francis, we are committed to provide mission-based compassionate care to families in Carmel and Westfield and the many communities we serve,” said Michael D. Bishop, M.D., president and chief executive officer of Immediate Care.
Launched in 1981 by the Bloomington, Ind.-based Unity Physician Group, the Immediate Care Centers collectively see about 100,000 patients each year. Each facility is always staffed by at least one physician and a highly trained staff committed to service excellence.
The opening of the new facility comes in the wake of another Franciscan St. Francis venture in Hamilton County. Last April, the hospital opened up a short-stay medical center, offering patients a range of inpatient and outpatient services that are conveniently located and quick and easy to access.
Located at North Meridian Medical Pavilion at 12188-B N. Meridian St., Franciscan St. Francis-Carmel provides onsite imaging, surgery and laboratory services, as well as orthopedics, physical therapy, oncology and primary care, patients have the flexibility of health care that fits their busy schedules.
