Gynecology practice now part of St. Francis Medical Group

INDIANAPOLISMeridian Gynecological Center, a Mooresville, Ind.-based practice, has joined St. Francis Medical Group, effective March 1.

Led by G. Alan Von Stein, M.D., the practice is now known as St. Francis Medical Group Women's Health & Gynecologic Surgery. The center offers health screenings, diagnostics and treatment, specialized treatment for urinary incontinence management, advanced and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, management and treatment of pelvic pain and abnormal uterine bleeding.

Von Stein, who has been recognized by Indianapolis Monthly magazine’s annual “Top Docs” for gynecology and gynecological surgery, is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The Trafalgar, Ind., resident has a long affiliation with Franciscan St. Francis Health. He has served as medical director of the St. Francis Women’s Center and medical staff president at the hospital’s Mooresville campus.

Von Stein, an honors undergraduate at the University of Toledo (Ohio), earned his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed an obstetrics/gynecology residency at the IU Medical Center. He holds a clinical academic appointment at the IU School of Medicine and has made frequent presentations at various medical centers.
