INDIANAPOLISFranciscan St. Francis Health – Indianapolis has received certification from two international organizations for its lactation program offered through the hospital’s Women and Children’s Services.

The hospital has received the Care Award from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners and the International Lactation Consultant Association. This recognition acknowledges St. Francis as having certified specialists on staff and a dedicated lactation program five-to-seven daysa week, and promoting projects to provide support for breastfeeding mothers.

St. Francis Health is an active participant in the South Central Breastfeeding Alliance that provides community breastfeeding education and resources to healthcare workers and families.

The hospital also participates each August in World Breastfeeding Week, which provides opportunities to highlight the benefits of breastfeeding and to make people aware of how we can lend support to mothers who want to breastfeed.
